Energy Secretary Diego Pardow traveled to Rotterdam to further consolidate Chile’s leadership position in the development of green hydrogen at the World Hydrogen 2025 Summit & Exhibition, held in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

During his visit to the European country, Minister Pardow participated in a series of activities at the event, which brings together global leaders in the field of H2V with the goal of further advancing the development of the hydrogen industry and forging key partnerships for the advancement of this energy source.

During the inauguration of the pavilion representing Chile at the World Hydrogen Summit 2025, Pardow mentioned our country’s close relationship with the Old Continent in terms of energy. “We have a long history of working together with the European Union for the development of renewable energy. There is no doubt that being part of this type of global event is essential to showcase the progress of the green hydrogen industry we are developing in our country, which contributes to promoting productive development, capacity building, and job creation in the hubs where the projects will be located,” emphasized the head of the Energy Ministry.

During his stay in the Netherlands, Pardow participated in various bilateral meetings, including one with Sophie Hermans, the Minister of Climate Policy and Green Growth of the Netherlands. This meeting served as an update on the progress and strategic agenda that the Netherlands and Chile have jointly in the areas of energy and green hydrogen.

For his part, ProChile ‘s Commercial Director in the Netherlands, Osvaldo Marinao, who is responsible for promoting our country’s image to potential investors, stated that “we are one of the countries with the greatest potential for green hydrogen exports in the world, while the Netherlands has the infrastructure and logistics to carry out distribution and storage. Therefore, we believe both countries have what it takes to enhance their attributes and generate commercial ties that will allow us to develop a sustainable industry.”

In this context, and with the aim of strengthening Chile’s global position in hydrogen development, during the World Hydrogen Summit 2025, the Chilean delegation, made up of representatives from the private and public sectors, will showcase our country’s innovation, partnerships, and key projects for the energy transition related to H2V. With this participation, Chile reaffirms its commitment to a decarbonized economy and also consolidates its position as a reliable partner for Europe in the green hydrogen value chain.
