UAE-Mongolia MoU Boosts Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen Ties - News and Statistics

The United Arab Emirates and Mongolia have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at boosting collaboration in renewable energy and green hydrogen, a move designed to assist the energy transition goals of both nations.

This agreement, forged between the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and Mongolia’s Ministry of Energy, encompasses the sharing of expertise, capacity-building initiatives and chances to create renewable energy ventures within Mongolia. It additionally aims to promote public-private sector collaboration on infrastructure that backs clean energy.

As part of the memorandum, both parties will form a joint working group tasked with pinpointing priority areas, evaluating the viability of suggested projects and supervising their progress.

The document was signed on behalf of the UAE by Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and for Mongolia by Togmid Dorjkhand, Deputy Prime Minister.

This partnership is intended to strengthen bilateral energy connections while aiding investment, skill enhancement and the growth of clean energy infrastructure.

Al Mazrouei stated that the memorandum demonstrates the UAE’s dedication to broadening its global energy alliances and fostering practical collaboration with Mongolia grounded in that nation’s domestic requirements and priorities. He added that it offers a chance to harness Mongolia’s renewable energy capacity in manners that bolster energy security and sustainable economic progress.

He continued by saying that the UAE anticipates utilizing its proficiency in clean energy and project development, alongside Mongolian partners, to investigate feasible and expandable prospects in renewable energy, green hydrogen and associated infrastructure. Per Al Mazrouei, this would assist in meeting Mongolia’s developmental requirements and aid in diversifying its energy portfolio.

Al Mazrouei observed that the partnership will heavily focus on sharing knowledge and technical skills and on enhancing capacity, while also examining economically and technically sound investment prospects and promoting private-sector involvement in projects that align with the priorities of both nations.
