New locations in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg strengthen green hydrogen infrastructure for heavy-duty transport.
Tyczka Hydrogen is accelerating its growth in the hydrogen mobility sector with the acquisition of two refueling stations from MorGen Mobility GmbH. The stations, located in Giengen an der Brenz (Baden-Württemberg) and Hallstadt (Bavaria), will join Tyczka’s expanding network, which already includes Augsburg and upcoming sites in Schweinfurt and Ravensburg.
Both stations are equipped to refuel vehicles with gaseous hydrogen at 350 and 700 bar, and technical upgrades are planned to boost performance for heavy-duty transport. They will be supplied with green hydrogen from Tyczka’s established H2 network, reinforcing the company’s role as a leading provider in southern Germany.
“Hydrogen vehicles enable long ranges and short refueling times, thus contributing to the spectrum of sustainable mobility as a bridge between diesel and battery-electric vehicles,” the company stated. Green hydrogen offers logistics operators independence from high-performance charging infrastructure, lower grid costs, and higher payloads compared to battery-electric trucks.
The acquisition aligns with Bavaria’s new funding program for hydrogen in heavy-duty transport, which covers up to 80% of additional investment costs for hydrogen-powered trucks. This initiative gives logistics companies a strong incentive to decarbonize their fleets. The transaction is expected to close in January 2026.
