ITM Power PLC (AIM:ITM) shares rose 4.6% to 65.9p after the company signed a 12.5MW contract with a project managed by Octopus Energy Generation to deploy its containerised green hydrogen systems.

The NEPTUNE V units will be installed at Kimberly-Clark’s Northfleet manufacturing facility in Kent, where green hydrogen will be used to power a new dual-fuel boiler for the paper-making process used in Andrex products.

The system will be funded by Octopus Energy Generation through its dedicated green hydrogen platform HYRO, which was awarded support under the UK Government’s Hydrogen Allocation Round 1 (HAR1). The project is expected to become operational by the end of 2027.
