Scottish Power puts UK green hydrogen plans on hold despite subsidy support | Power

Scottish Power has paused the development of its green hydrogen projects, including two selected for UK government subsidies.

The Iberdrola subsidiary confirmed the move to H2 View, citing “challenging conditions” and a “limited route to market” for green hydrogen.

The pause includes the 10MW Whitelee green hydrogen project, and the 10.6MW Cromarty Hydrogen development with Storegga, which have both signed funding agreements under the UK’s first Hydrogen Allocation Round (HAR1).
