Lhyfe expects 2027 FID on 100MW France green hydrogen project

Lhyfe expects to take final investment decision (FID) on its 100MW Normandy green hydrogen plant in 2027, as it nears bringing 15MW of French capacity online.

The announcement came in the French developer’s H1 2026 financials, where it reported revenues of €4.7m ($5.3m), up from €4.6m ($5.15m) in the same period last year.

With 36MW of green hydrogen capacity already online, Lhyfe said it is preparing for “upcoming [FIDs]” including at the 100MW Green Horizon project.

Planned in Gonfreville-l’Orcher, the project has secured €149m ($167m) from the French government and is expected to produce 34 tonnes of hydrogen per day to supply unnamed industrial customers.

It also said its 5MW Croixalt facility in Somme and 10MW Le Cheylas plant in Isère had entered commissioning and are “expected to contribute to revenue from 2027 onwards.”

The company has been expanding through the year, most recently landing supply deals with Germany-based project developer H2Apex, industrial gas major Messer,  and Dutch biomethanol producer Perpetual Next.

It also partnered with major construction firm Strabag to support its build-out in Germany.

Increasingly positioned as a leading supplier of renewable fuel of non-biological origin-compliant hydrogen in Europe, the firm said it anticipates a “significant increase” in revenues from these sales.

Lhyfe said this could reach up to €13m ($14.6m) this year, “supported by accelerating activity in Germany.”

Earlier in the year, Chief Strategy Officer Luc Graré told H2 View that refining operations in Europe could create demand for around 600,000 tonnes of green hydrogen by 2032.

Beyond production, Lhyfe has also increased its hydrogen transportation capabilities, increasing its Type IV tube trailer fleet to 84.
