Under this MoU, GH2 will work closely with GPCL to accelerate green hydrogen production within Gujarat, in line with the state’s target of producing over 3 million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030.
The MoU was signed by Arun Mahesh Babu M S, IAS, Managing Director of GPCL, and Nishaanth Balashanmugam, Country Manager – India for GH2. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Jai Prakash Shivahare, IAS, Managing Director of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL), and Julia Souder, CEO of the Long Duration Energy Storage Council (LDES) and Chair of the Global Renewables Alliance.
“This partnership is a testament to the growing coalition of partners committed to the vision of a cleaner, sustainable planet for future generations. We look forward to the transformative impacts our joint efforts will bring to the global green hydrogen landscape and particularly to the vibrant state of Gujarat,” said G2H.
GH2 has committed to promoting the use of green hydrogen globally. Through initiatives in capacity building, advocacy, and market building, GH2 aims to maximise environmental benefits. This new partnership with GPCL is a major step towards integrating global green energy efforts with local practices and promises to have a significant environmental impact.
