Greater Noida: An Australian delegation comprising 32 representatives from 21 clean energy companies is exploring opportunities for business collaboration and technology exchange with Indian companies at the Renewable Energy India Expo (REI Expo) 2026, being held at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida from October 22 to 24, Renewable Watch reported.
The delegation is led by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade). Its visit programme is being organised by Australia’s Smart Energy Council and the Renewable Energy Council Asia Pacific (RECAP), with support from the Australian government’s Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, the Accessing New Markets Initiative (ANMI), Investment NSW and Global Victoria.

The Australia Pavilion at the expo showcases a range of technologies and services, including battery storage systems, solar solutions, renewable-powered water systems for remote areas, solar photovoltaic technology, renewable energy training, hydrogen technology, energy simulation, solar installation, clean technology and artificial intelligence solutions.
During the expo, the delegation is meeting Indian businesses and industry stakeholders to gain a better understanding of the country’s clean energy sector and identify opportunities for commercial partnerships, technology cooperation and knowledge sharing.
Murray Spence, Trade and Investment Commissioner at Austrade, said Australia and India had complementary strengths that could support the transition to clean energy. He highlighted the technological expertise and innovation offered by Australian businesses, alongside India’s opportunities for technology deployment, commercial cooperation and market growth.
Spence said REI Expo 2026 was providing Australian companies with direct access to Indian industry to explore partnerships that could generate long-term commercial benefits.
The participation comes amid growing cooperation between Australia and India in renewable energy development, energy security and the transition towards lower-emission energy systems.
The India-Australia Renewable Energy Partnership, launched in November 2024, identifies eight areas of cooperation: solar photovoltaics, solar supply chains, renewable hydrogen, energy storage, the circular economy for renewable energy, two-way investment in renewable energy projects and related sectors, capacity building, and other areas of mutual interest.
India’s expanding renewable energy sector presents opportunities for Australian companies in areas such as energy storage, grid modernisation, clean energy technologies and resilient supply chains.
Austrade said it would continue to strengthen commercial relations between the two countries by connecting Indian businesses with Australian clean energy capabilities and expertise, supporting sustained industry collaboration.
