“Germany is a key partner for Italy, both in the industrial sector and in the technological and scientific fields, and an important roadmap was recently signed between Minister Anna Maria Bernini and her German counterpart Dorothee Bär to expand cooperation even further. In particular, in the field of meteorology.” This was explained by Piergiorgio Alotto, the MAECI’s scientific attaché in Berlin, speaking with ANSA on the sidelines of the Conference of Scientific, Space, and Agricultural Experts in Reggio Calabria.
This year, he explained, “an important agreement was signed on a project that brings the University of Bologna and the University of Bonn much closer together for even stronger collaboration in the field of meteorology, with a major program spanning many years and receiving very substantial funding.”
But meteorology is not the only area of collaboration, he emphasized. “Another closely related field, linked to climate change, is support for the development of green hydrogen technologies. Here, too, we are dealing with a multi-year agreement that was successfully launched about two years ago and is yielding significant results”.
These are just “two examples of the very close relationship between the two countries, which the ministry continues to fund very substantially, including in collaboration with the Ministry of Universities and Research,” Alotto concluded.
