Sungrow Hydrogen and its Polish partner DOT Engineering have signed an agreement with Promet Plast to supply a 21 MW Proton Exchange Membrane electrolyser system for a green hydrogen production project in Poland.

The order is reported to be the largest PEM electrolyser system supplied in Poland to date.

The system will be installed at an RFNBO, or Renewable Fuels of Non Biological Origin, green hydrogen production project in Gaj Oławski. The facility will be powered by 49.36 MW of newly integrated wind and solar capacity, alongside existing renewable energy sources.

Once operational, the plant is expected to produce 1,701 tonnes of green hydrogen annually. The project is also forecast to avoid more than 57,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.

Sungrow Hydrogen will provide the electrolyser technology, while DOT Engineering will act as distributor. Polish manufacturing and energy company ELQ S.A. will serve as the project’s general contractor.

The project forms part of Poland’s growing renewable hydrogen sector, with the use of new wind and solar generation providing the electricity required for hydrogen production.
