Rohtak: Congress MP Deepender Hooda on Monday launched a sharp attack on the BJP govt, alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was taking credit for projects initiated during the Congress era instead of announcing new initiatives.Addressing a gathering in Rohtak, Deepender said the PM’s recent visit to Jind did not bring any new project for Haryana. Instead, he claimed, the BJP spent the last 12 years inaugurating and claiming ownership of projects that were conceived and executed by previous Congress govts. He questioned the govt over the expenditure incurred on the project and demanded an explanation regarding its performance.Hooda claimed that the Jind-Gohana -Sonipat railway line, on which the hydrogen train was launched, was constructed during the Congress govt.He alleged that the BJP had not laid any new railway line in the region and said the PM could have announced a new railway project for Haryana. He also referred to the railway coach factory that was shifted to Varanasi, stating that it should have been restored to Haryana.Speaking about the Parliament session, Hooda said the Congress would raise what he described as the “historic paper leak scams”. He said the party has been fighting for students’ rights through its ‘Congress Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign and would continue to raise issues related to the alleged NEET paper leak and violations of students’ rights.
