NTPC Limited has invited online bids for a domestic competitive project to extend an 11kV power supply to a Green Hydrogen Mobility Station located at NTPC NETRA in Greater Noida. The station will be powered from the existing 33kV switchgear, marking another step in the company’s efforts to support clean energy and hydrogen-based mobility solutions.
The scope of work under this tender includes several important electrical engineering activities. The selected contractor will be responsible for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a 2.5 MVA oil-type step-down transformer. In addition, the project involves laying and terminating 33kV, 11kV, and control cables, along with relay coordination and testing. The entire project will be funded through NTPC’s domestic resources.
The bidding process will follow a single-stage, two-envelope system covering both techno-commercial and price bids. Submissions must be made through the GePNIC portal. As per the schedule, the invitation for bids was issued on May 1, 2026, and document download also started the same day at 5:00 PM. Interested bidders can submit their queries until May 8, 2026. The last date for bid submission is May 21, 2026, by 3:00 PM, while the techno-commercial bids will be opened on May 22, 2026, at 3:30 PM. The date for opening price bids will be announced later, after the technical evaluation.
To participate in the tender, bidders must submit a bid security amounting to INR 1,00,000. This can be provided through an electronic bank guarantee or an electronic fund transfer. Any bid without the required security will be treated as non-responsive. Since this is a works contract, benefits for Micro and Small Enterprises are not applicable in this case.
NTPC has also specified clear eligibility criteria. Bidders must have prior experience in handling the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of transformers of 11kV or higher voltage class within the last seven years. They should have completed either one project worth at least INR 75 lakh, two projects worth INR 47 lakh each, or three projects worth INR 37 lakh each. On the financial side, bidders must show an average annual turnover of at least INR 94 lakh over the last three financial years.
Participation is limited to Class-I local suppliers under the government’s Make in India policy. Additionally, bidders from countries sharing a land border with India must be registered with the competent authority to qualify for the tender.
