In a significant development for India’s green hydrogen ecosystem, TrueRE Oriana Power has signed a long-term Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement (GAPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
The agreement предусматривает the supply of 60,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually at a discovered price of ₹52.25 per kg. The total contract is valued at approximately ₹3,135 crore over a 10-year period. In parallel, SECI has executed a Green Ammonia Sale Agreement (GASA) with Madhya Bharat Agro Products Limited, the designated end off-taker.
TrueRE Oriana Power had secured the Letter of Award (LoA) for the project in August 2025 under the Government of India’s Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) programme. The formal signing of the agreement took place on March 30, 2026, at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi, under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
The ceremony was attended by key government officials, including Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers J. P. Nadda, and Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik, along with senior representatives from MNRE, the Department of Fertilisers, and industry stakeholders.
The green ammonia project will be developed in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, with TrueRE Oriana Power responsible for end-to-end execution, including project development, regulatory approvals, and land clearances.
Commenting on the development, Anirudh Saraswat, Founder and Chief Business Officer of TrueRE Oriana Power, highlighted that long-term offtake agreements are crucial for scaling green hydrogen and its derivatives. He noted that the project not only supports industrial decarbonisation but also enhances India’s energy security by reducing reliance on imported fossil-based feedstocks, particularly in the fertiliser sector.
With this initiative, TrueRE Oriana Power continues to expand its integrated renewable energy portfolio beyond power generation into emerging green fuel solutions, reinforcing its role in advancing India’s clean energy transition.
