REC arm sets up new company in Vizag to power upcoming green hydrogen project

Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd’s arm has incorporated Vizag Power Transmission Ltd as a wholly owned subsidiary for a green hydrogen project, the company informed the exchanges on Monday, February 16.

REC Ltd said its subsidiary, REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), has incorporated the wholly owned subsidiary in line with regulatory requirements.

The newly incorporated entity, registered on February 16, 2026, has an authorised and paid-up capital of ₹5 lakh. As a newly formed company, it is yet to commence operations and has no turnover.

It has been set up to implement the transmission system for the proposed green hydrogen and green ammonia projects in the Vizag area of Andhra Pradesh (Phase I).

The acquisition was made through 100% subscription to the equity share capital in cash at face value.
