Plug Power could supply over 1 GW of electrolysers for Arcadia eFuels’ green hydrogen-based sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) projects, including its 280MW Endor project in Denmark.
Under a new strategic cooperation, Plug becomes the preferred technology supplier for Endor, as well as Arcadia’s planned projects in the UK and Texas, US.
Endor is an 80,000 tonne-per-year e-SAF plant expected to come online in the early 2030’s, with Germany’s Uniper having committed to buying around half the plant’s output.
Arcadia also recently entered a partnership with MB Energy under which the pair will aim to establish transportation, storage, blending, and delivery infrastructure for e-SAF markets in Europe.
Plug’s onboarding represents a further boost to its project pipeline, as the US hydrogen firm aims to reach profitability in 2027, following a rocky stretch.
Prior to the appointment of CEO José Luis Crespo, Plug reported $1.7bn in net losses.
This year it raised close to $40m through the sale of tax credits associated with a hydrogen liquefaction plant in Louisiana, US, having raised $30m selling those from its Georgia hydrogen plant in early 2025.
In August, Crespo told a Q2 earnings call that the company has “never [been] more confident” in the direction of travel, claiming it was on track to achieve positive EBITDAS this year.
The firm recently delivered a 1MW electrolyser to a hydrogen refuelling station in New Zealand in a move it billed as supporting a much-anticipated ramp-up in the Oceania region.
