A modular proton exchange membrane electrolyzer
Ohmium manufactures modular proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers. The company states its global renewable hydrogen project pipeline exceeds 2 gigawatts (GW) across three continents, according to statements made in June 2025. Similar initiatives are expanding globally, including in Europe where European Energy won a German hydrogen tender worth 228 million euros, reflecting the acceleration of the sector worldwide.
InSolare Energy will act as a partner in the system’s design and deployment. The two companies will work jointly to meet the technical requirements of the Neyveli site. This partnership reflects the growing role of specialized consortiums in green hydrogen infrastructure delivery.
NLC India: a public operator diversifying its portfolio
NLC India is an Indian state-owned company operating in power generation and coal mining. According to its website, it has a total generating capacity of 7.74 GW, including 1.78 GW from renewable energy sources. The Neyveli project is part of its gradual energy portfolio diversification.
The company is among the public operators expected to support India’s national hydrogen strategy. The Indian government has set a target of 5 million metric tons per year of renewable hydrogen by 2030, as outlined in the National Green Hydrogen Mission. India also aims to capture a 10% share of global hydrogen trade by the same deadline.
A market with stable pricing
Platts, an entity of S&P Global Energy, assessed the India renewable hydrogen term contract at $3.19 per kilogram as of May 18 on a weekly basis, largely unchanged from a month ago. Price formation remains a central parameter for evaluating the competitiveness of large-scale electrolysis projects. The economic equation for renewable hydrogen in India depends notably on renewable electricity supply costs and grid access conditions.
