NLC INDIA LIMITED SPEARHEADS GREEN HYDROGEN TRANSITION WITH “HYBRID” NATIONAL SEMINAR

NEYVELI, March 28, 2026 – Advancing its commitment to sustainable energy innovation, NLC India Limited (NLCIL) successfully organized a high-level national seminar titled “Green Hydrogen: Bridging Research, Innovation, and Deployment (HYBRID)”.

The one-day event, held at the Power Station Training Centre (PSTC) in Neyveli on March 26, was organized by NLCIL’s Centre for Applied Research & Development (CARD) in strategic collaboration with the Centre for Materials Joining & Research (CEMAJOR), Annamalai University.

Leadership and Vision

Er. M. Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), NLCIL, participated as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the seminar virtually while the Guest of Honour was Er. Rajesh Pratap Singh Sisodia, Director (Planning & Projects), NLCIL who also participated in virtual mode. Under the leadership of Er. Neeraj Kumar, CGM & Unit Head (CARD), the seminar brought together a diverse group of experts to bridge the gap between laboratory breakthroughs and large-scale deployment.

In his address, Shri Prasanna Kumar stated – “The global energy landscape is undergoing a significant transformation and Hydrogen has emerged as a pivotal element in this transition. For this, there is a need for capacity building, skill development, and institutional collaboration to create a robust ecosystem for green hydrogen deployment.”

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rajesh Pratap Singh Sisodia said that we should strive to create a synergy between academic research and industrial application to achieve this energy transition.

Technical Excellence & Future Roadmap

The program featured five comprehensive technical sessions led by distinguished faculty and industry veterans from IIT Madras, Annamalai University, and leading private sector partners. Key themes included Technological Advancements: Cutting-edge developments in electrolysis and storage, Overcoming Challenges: Addressing the logistical and economic hurdles of green hydrogen and Strategic Deployment: Scalable solutions for industrial integration.

Driving the Green Agenda

This seminar serves as a vital precursor to NLCIL’s landmark 4 MW Solar Energy-based Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant currently under development at Neyveli. By fostering a collaborative ecosystem between research institutions and industry leaders, NLCIL is positioning itself at the forefront of India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission.

The event concluded with a clear roadmap for future initiatives, providing participants with actionable insights into the hydrogen economy and its role in achieving a carbon-neutral future.
