MIT classmates powered by $220m in funding are seeing their ammonia fuel cell dream come to life


Four South Korean entrepreneurs who met while studying for their doctorate degrees in the US have raised $220m in the past three years from a string of blue-chip investors to help shipping bring ammonia fuelling closer to reality.

The quartet, who united at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is behind Amogy, a company now proving a technology that can let ships use ammonia in fuel cells.
