LUPRO, a global green energy resource producer, will choose Thailand as the main focus of green hydrogen green ammonia resource production and prepare for a full-fledged business.
According to LUPro on the 20th, Thailand has abundant water resources, is easy to secure clean energy that combines solar and wind power, and has become a global logistics hub with a full-fledged aviation network and sea transport routes, optimized for green hydrogen production and transportation.
LUPRO has signed a total of $4.5 billion (about 6 trillion won) in green energy sales and supply contracts with Mach Corporation, a Thai energy trading company.
An LUPRO official said, “Thanks to the generous support of Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Gon Dabaran City, we decided to head to Thailand. The Thai government is also expected to actively cooperate because having a global green energy production base will help realize carbon neutrality in the country and build new energy industry infrastructure early.”
The site for green energy production in LYUPRO is 5.4 million square meters (about 1.64 million pyeong) near Bangkok, where Thailand’s Thai Bay port is connected by a canal, and it is considered to be rich in wind, solar, and water resources, making it a natural condition in terms of green hydrogen production and transportation.
“We plan to sign a Master Agreement for the progress of the project as a strategic partner within this year after consultations with LUPRO and Thailand’s energy minister as a project that has already been reported to the Thai government,” said Akirason, CEO of Ma Corporation.
“We will actively respond to the climate crisis facing the world by producing green hydrogen green ammonia resources in Thailand and supplying them at home and abroad through Saemangeum Port,” said Kim Se-ho, chairman of LUPro. “Furthermore, it will be a vanguard of resource security that contributes to carbon neutrality in Korea.”
