Italgas, Gaxa, and Granarolo Sign Agreement for Green Hydrogen Supply to Sardinian Dairy Plant

Italgas, Gaxa–a subsidiary of Edison Energia–and Granarolo have signed an agreement for the supply of green hydrogen to a dairy facility in Sardinia.

According to a joint statement, this marks the first time in Italy that a blend containing up to 20% hydrogen will be continuously supplied to a production facility.

The hydrogen, sourced from renewable origins, will be produced at Italgas’ Power to Gas plant and distributed via the group’s ‘natively digital’ networks in Sardinia.

Starting from September 2025, the hydrogen, blended with methane, will be delivered to Granarolo’s Casearia Podda facility in Sestu, in the province of Cagliari, through Gaxa’s supply network.
