Hydrogen: a Driving Force Behind the Decarbonization of Our Refineries in Europe

Hydrogen: a Driving Force Behind the Decarbonization of Our Refineries in Europe

Map of secure supply of low-carbon hydrogen at our RC sites to date (March 2025)

This map shows TotalEnergies’ Refining-Chemicals sites in Europe and the type of low-carbon hydrogen supply.

The map also shows for each site the percentage of low-carbon hydrogen supply secured to date (March 2025), including the contract with Air Products.

  • At the Leuna site in Germany, low-carbon hydrogen will be supplied via green hydrogen supply contracts. To date, just over 25% of low-carbon hydrogen has been secured.
  • At the Zeeland site in the Netherlands, low-carbon hydrogen will be supplied via green hydrogen production by TotalEnergies and its partners. To date, almost 25% of low-carbon hydrogen has been secured.
  • At the Antwerp site in Belgium, low-carbon hydrogen will be supplied via tolling agreements. To date, around 10% of low-carbon hydrogen has been secured.
  • At the Normandy site in France, low-carbon hydrogen will be supplied via tolling agreements. To date, around 10% of low-carbon hydrogen has been secured.
  • At the Grandpuits site in France, low-carbon hydrogen will be supplied via renewable hydrogen production in the biorefinery. To date, almost 100% of low-carbon hydrogen has been secured.
  • At the Donges site in France, less than 10% of low-carbon hydrogen has been secured to date.
  • At the Feyzin site in France, less than 10% of low-carbon hydrogen has been secured to date.
