Hindustan Zinc Eyes Green Mining with Hydrogen Solutions Pact.
Vedanta Group company Hindustan Zinc Ltd recently announced a collaboration with Advantek Associates LLP and Aero Eagle Automobiles Pvt Ltd to assess the deployment of green hydrogen and other clean-energy solutions across its operations.
The partnership aims to explore innovative technologies that can help reduce carbon emissions and support the company’s transition toward low-carbon and future-ready mining practices.
As part of the initiative, Hindustan Zinc has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to evaluate the use of hydrogen-based technologies in mining applications. The company said the collaboration aligns with its broader sustainability goals and efforts to decarbonise operations.
“Through this MoU, Hindustan Zinc is set to pioneer the use of hydrogen fuel for underground mining applications, positioning it to become the only company to deploy this technology in such environments,” the company said in a regulatory filing with the BSE.
The move is expected to strengthen Hindustan Zinc’s commitment to adopting cleaner energy alternatives and advancing sustainable mining practices in India.
