Hexagon Purus has entered into a financing agreement for its Chinese joint venture with partner CIMC Enric, according to a report from Hydrogen Central. Under the new terms, CIMC Enric will provide capital to the venture during the current year, receiving a larger ownership stake in return.

This financial arrangement is designed to reduce cash requirements for Hexagon Purus while maintaining the venture’s operational activities and position in China. The agreement includes a provision allowing Hexagon Purus to later restore its initial level of ownership in the joint entity.

The company’s chief executive stated the move is part of a broader review of business holdings and represents a measure to enhance capital efficiency. China is described as a key strategic market, being the world’s largest for hydrogen mobility and infrastructure solutions.

Operationally, the joint venture has been adjusting its business model to align with present market dynamics and pursuing necessary certifications for the Chinese market. The partners have also agreed to streamline the venture’s corporate structure, aiming to boost cost efficiency, accelerate operations, and strengthen competitiveness.
