Madhya Pradesh is set to host a green hydrogen unit in Morena. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, at the Bhoomi Pujan of the hydrogen production unit in Piparseva, Morena, stated that this marks the beginning of a new industrial revolution, a new energy revolution, and a new Madhya Pradesh. Yadav said this while addressing the public at the ceremony at GH2 Solar Limited’s hydrogen production unit in Piparseva, Morena, on Sunday.
The Chief Minister explained, “Leading companies from Korea and the United Kingdom (UK) are also providing technical support for the hydrogen unit being set up in Morena.” While informing about the project, Yadav said, “Spread across seven acres, the project will produce green hydrogen and integrate India with technologies like hydrogen and battery energy storage. It is expected to provide direct jobs to 500 youth, along with numerous indirect employment avenues.”
He noted that at the recently held Regional Tourism Conclave in Gwalior, investment proposals worth ₹3,500 crore were received. Additionally, he explained that companies like Gautam Solar Pvt. Ltd. are also setting up a solar cell manufacturing unit with an investment of ₹4,000 crore. Moreover, the state government is also setting up a series of industrial areas and parks in the Gwalior–Chambal region.
Seeking Renewable Energy Investment
The event was attended by New and Renewable Energy Minister Rakesh Shukla, MP Shivmangal Singh Tomar, Green Hydrogen Factory promoter Anurag Jain, along with several industrialists, public representatives, and a large number of citizens.
Previous International Collaboration
The latest announcement not only strengthens Madhya Pradesh’s domestic green hydrogen manufacturing capacity but also underscores its focus on global partnerships. Earlier this year, the state sought international support through investment commitments from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), targeting sectors such as electric vehicles, smart manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, textiles, renewable energy, and food processing.
