ErreDue to Supply 1 MW Electrolyzer to Leading Italian Ceramics Group
(Alliance News) – ErreDue Spa announced on Tuesday the signing of an agreement to supply a 1 MW alkaline electrolyzer to a major national operator in the ceramics sector, a company actively engaged in the energy transition.
The total value of the contract is approximately EUR1.4 million, with delivery scheduled by April 2026.
The system, fully containerized and integrated with a nitrogen generator and a medium-to-low voltage transformer, will be installed at an advanced ceramics facility in Emilia-Romagna. The electrolyzer will enable the production of around 132 tonnes of green hydrogen per year, to be used in a hydrogen-ready industrial kiln capable of mixing up to 50% hydrogen with methane. This will allow for the replacement of around 500,000 cubic meters of natural gas and a reduction in CO2 emissions of over 900 tonnes annually.
The project is part of the decarbonization plan of a major Italian ceramics group, internationally recognized for its production of large technical slabs and the use of innovative technologies such as 4D ceramics.
Francesca Barontini, CEO of ErreDue, stated:
Our technology for green hydrogen production offers a concrete solution for energy-intensive sectors
“This project demonstrates that the energy transition is a real, yet achievable challenge when innovation, industrial expertise, and strategic vision come together.”
ErreDue shares closed up 3.5% on Tuesday at EUR7.35 per share.
