Deendayal Port Authority has announced a new tender for a modern clean energy project at Kandla, marking an important move toward sustainable port operations. The project will focus on setting up a green hydrogen storage system using metal hydride technology, along with fuel cell-based power generation for port applications. It will be handled under the Electrical Division and is expected to support the use of clean energy within maritime infrastructure.
The estimated project cost is around ₹3.26 crore (₹32.55 million). The authority has set a short completion timeline of six months, which means bidders will need to plan efficient execution and quick delivery. The project highlights the growing focus on green hydrogen and advanced storage systems in India’s energy transition.
To participate in the tender, bidders must meet certain financial requirements. A non-refundable bidding processing fee of ₹5,900 is required. In addition, an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹6.51 lakh must be submitted as bid security. Both payments are to be made in favor of the Deendayal Port Authority through the Bank of Baroda, Gandhidham branch. The account and IFSC details have been provided in the tender notice. The authority has also mentioned that fee exemptions are available for eligible bidders. While the EMD is clearly defined, the Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) amount is not specified in the summary and will follow the detailed tender conditions.
The timeline for the tender process is clearly defined. The bid document download and submission started on March 13, 2026. A pre-bid meeting will be held offline on March 23, 2026, at 4:00 PM, allowing bidders to clarify queries. The last date for bid submission is April 6, 2026, at 4:00 PM, and the technical bids will be opened on the same day at 4:30 PM. The commercial bids are scheduled for evaluation on April 8, 2026.
Bidders must submit their proposals online through the nProcure portal. Physical submissions will not be accepted. Contractors are also required to have a valid Class-III Digital Certificate to participate in the process. To help vendors, training sessions are conducted every Saturday by nCode Solutions in Ahmedabad.
This tender reflects the port authority’s effort to adopt innovative clean energy technologies and reduce carbon emissions while improving operational efficiency.
