Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) said on Tuesday it has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with thyssenkrupp nucera India Pvt Ltd for alkaline electrolyser systems to be used in green hydrogen projects.
According to a stock exchange filing, the collaboration is aims to support the phased indigenisation and local manufacturing of alkaline electrolyser systems for green hydrogen projects in India.
It is also expected to strengthen BHEL’s project execution capabilities in the sector.
The agreement is a domestic strategic tie-up for alkaline electrolyser systems.
BHEL did not disclose the financial consideration for the collaboration, describing it as confidential.
The company said the partnership is expected to enhance BHEL’s contribution to the National Green Hydrogen Mission while supporting the government’s Make in India initiative.
