Arctech Secures 175 MW Solar Tracker Deal For Major Green Hydrogen Project In Oman

Arctech, a global leader in solar tracking, racking, and building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) solutions, has entered into a strategic agreement with ACME Cleantech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. to supply 175 MWp of solar trackers for a major renewable energy project in Duqm, Oman. ACME is a fully integrated Indian renewable energy company with a diversified portfolio spanning solar, wind, hybrid, and firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) projects. This collaboration supports the solar power component of ACME’s 300 metric tons per day (MTPD) Green Ammonia Project, one of the first large-scale green hydrogen initiatives in the region.

The Duqm project site is located near Oman’s southeastern coastline and is characterized by challenging environmental conditions, including sandy terrain, high wind speeds reaching up to 55 meters per second, C5-level corrosion exposure, extreme temperatures, and intense solar radiation. The region receives an annual average solar irradiance of approximately 5,764 kWh/m², making it an ideal location for utility-scale solar energy installations.

To meet the technical demands of this environment, Arctech will deploy its advanced Skyline II solar tracking system, a 1P single-axis tracker specifically engineered for durability and performance in extreme climates. These systems will enhance the efficiency and reliability of the solar PV infrastructure that will power the green hydrogen facility. Tracker deliveries are scheduled to commence in phases starting from July 2025.

This project aligns with Oman’s broader national energy transition strategy. The Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) is spearheading initiatives to diversify the country’s energy mix, including concentrated solar power (CSP) projects and other large-scale renewable installations. The national target is to derive 35–39% of electricity from renewable sources by 2040. The partnership between Arctech and ACME reinforces this vision by integrating clean solar energy into a next-generation hydrogen production framework.

“We are pleased to partner with Arctech for our 300 MTPD Green Hydrogen project in Duqm, Oman. This collaboration marks an important milestone in our green hydrogen journey, and we are confident that Arctech’s advanced tracking solutions and project execution capabilities will support us in achieving optimal energy efficiency and reliability under challenging coastal and high-wind site conditions,” commented by Vipin Aggarwal, VP of Procurement in Green Hydrogen and International Business.

The green ammonia facility in Duqm is seen as a flagship example of industrial decarbonization through the combination of solar and hydrogen technologies. With a proven track record of executing large-scale solar projects across the globe, Arctech’s involvement adds significant value and technical assurance to the initiative. This collaboration not only strengthens Arctech’s growing presence in international renewable energy markets but also positions the Duqm region as a critical node in the emerging global green hydrogen economy.
