Adani Energy Bags ₹8,500 Crore Transmission Project to Power Vizag Green Hydrogen Projects.

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has secured an interstate transmission project worth about ₹8,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh to supply power to upcoming green hydrogen and green ammonia projects in the Visakhapatnam region.

The project, awarded under the Centre’s Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework, is designed to meet an estimated power demand of around 4,500 MW from proposed green molecule projects in Visakhapatnam. It will also strengthen the transmission network in the Pendurthi–Visakhapatnam corridor, where large-scale data centre and digital infrastructure investments are planned, the company said in a statement recently.

The project will be implemented through a special purpose vehicle, Vizag Power Transmission Ltd. It includes the development of two high-capacity substations at Pendurthi in Visakhapatnam and Khammam-II, along with around 1,582 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 10,500 MVA of transformation capacity.

With the addition of the project, AESL’s transmission network will expand to 29,531 circuit kilometres, while its transformation capacity will increase to about 133,675 MVA, further strengthening its position in India’s power transmission sector.
