Saudi Arabian clean energy powerhouse Acwa Power is rapidly building out renewable energy capacity at home and around the globe, and is set to play a key role in two large green hydrogen projects in the kingdom. This summer’s announcement of a new green hydrogen hub in Yanbu, on Saudi Arabia’s west coast, reflected Acwa’s confidence in the nascent sector, even as multiple other clean hydrogen projects around the world are canceled or delayed, often due to insufficient offtake commitments.
