Acme Cleantech wins sub-₹50/kg green ammonia bid in ninth SECI auction

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) announced that Acme will supply 1,00,000 tonnes per year of green ammonia to IFFCO Paradeep’s site in Odisha under the agreement.

Until today, the lowest bid in the auction had been ₹50.75/kg from Jakson Green. Acme has also gone from the most expensive first mover, with ₹55.75/kg ($0.64/kg) in the first auction, to the record-setting cost leader.

The SECI stated on LinkedIn that the auction has proved that green ammonia is becoming affordable, bankable and scalable, with India setting industry benchmarks.

“Guided by MNRE’s policy support, stimulated by the Department of Fertilisers capacity augmentation, anchored in market readiness, with SECI steering transparently and offtakers stepping up with conviction, India’s clean molecule journey is not just a chapter in progress; it’s a rapid rewrite of the global energy playbook.”

Acme’s bid marked the ninth auction under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-2A, Tranche-I), with four more awards still to come.
