Exports of green hydrogen from Azerbaijan may begin after 2036, Deputy Director of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency Rana Humbatova told Report.
According to her, the export of green hydrogen is one of the country’s strategic directions.
“At least two strategic projects envisage the export of green hydrogen. Currently, the consulting company Kearney is conducting research, according to which the export of green hydrogen is possible,” she said.
Humbatova also noted that work on creating a hydrogen cluster continues in Azerbaijan.
“The first pilot project has not yet been launched. The study of directions in this area is already underway, and after that, depending on domestic demand, the main direction will be determined. Following this, a feasibility study will be conducted at the initial stage, and then work related to the implementation of the pilot project will be carried out. If, based on the results of the feasibility study, the application of ‘green hydrogen’ is deemed economically and technically viable, work on the implementation of the pilot project will be carried out,” she noted.
