A rally held in Jind to coincide with the flagging off of India’s first hydrogen train and the unveiling of development projects by Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a clear message promoting green energy and raising awareness about environmental conservation. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the public, social organisation representatives, and administrative officials, many of whom used electric vehicles and other green energy-powered transports to demonstrate commitment to sustainability.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini welcomed the Prime Minister, stating he is “not only a symbol of the hopes, aspirations, and trust of 1.4 billion Indians but also the architect of a Viksit Bharat.” The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Mr Modi for dedicating nine major development projects worth Rs 14,721 crore to Haryana.
He stated that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, India has undergone unprecedented transformation over the past 12 years, with rapid advancement in infrastructure, railways, roads, expressways, metro connectivity, healthcare, education, and digital governance. “Today’s India is not merely talking about development but is presenting a new model of development to the world,” Saini said.
The projects dedicated to Haryana mark a new phase in the state’s growth, he added, calling the day historic not only for Haryana but for the whole country. “There was a time when India sought technology from the world, but today the world wants to adopt India’s technology. There was a time when India looked for opportunities abroad, but today the world is looking for opportunities in India. The same world that once questioned India’s capabilities now recognises it as a confident nation leading a new era.”
The Chief Minister described the launch of the hydrogen train in Haryana as a source of great pride for the state, exemplifying the Prime Minister’s vision of green energy and Atmanirbhar Bharat. He described it as “a historic step towards clean, modern, and environment-friendly transportation.”
Saini noted that Haryana has received over Rs 7 lakh crore in assistance from various Central Government schemes during the past 12 years under the double-engine government, accelerating the expansion of highways, railways, metro projects, healthcare facilities, and other infrastructure. He highlighted that this event marked the Prime Minister’s 18th visit to Haryana during his 4,435 days in public service and that prior visits had seen projects worth more than Rs 71,000 crore dedicated to the state. The newly launched projects are expected to further accelerate development.
Under the Prime Minister’s guidance, Haryana has made significant progress in education, healthcare, agriculture, industry, and infrastructure. The state has met its goal of establishing a college every 20 kilometres, while PM SHRI Schools and Sanskriti Model Schools are being developed every 10 kilometres. It currently has 17 medical colleges, of which 11 were established in the past 12 years, with three more under construction.
Saini stated that Haryana is the first state in India to procure all 24 crops at the Minimum Support Price to protect farmers’ interests. The state aims to strengthen all canals older than 20 years by 2031 to improve irrigation, and restoration of 450 water reservoirs is progressing swiftly. Out of 217 election commitments, 66 have been fulfilled, with work ongoing to complete the rest within the stipulated timeframe.
The Chief Minister mentioned that, in response to the Prime Minister’s appeal, the large public gathering in Jind was organised as an environment-friendly event, with most attendees using petrol- and diesel-free vehicles. He expressed confidence that Haryana would play a leading role in realising the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
