BJP national secretary Om Prakash Dhankar on Tuesday said that July 17 would be a historic day not only for Haryana but for the entire country as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag off the proposed hydrogen-powered train service from Jind.
Addressing a press conference in Jhajjar, Dhankar said the launch would mark a significant step towards clean energy, green transportation and modern technology. The Jind event would become a national symbol of the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and provide fresh momentum to the country’s green energy mission.
“India is making rapid progress in hydrogen-based rail technology. The indigenously developed hydrogen train, with a capacity of around 1,200 horsepower, represents modern technology, ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and indigenous innovation. At a time when the world is moving towards reducing carbon emissions and adopting clean energy, India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is making remarkable strides in green hydrogen, renewable energy and environment-friendly transport,” he added.
Highlighting PM Modi’s association with Haryana, Dhankar said Modi’s visits to the state have consistently been linked with development and nation-building. He cited the instances of honouring ex-servicemen in Rewari, launch of the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign in Panipat, emphasis on preserving cultural heritage at Kurukshetra, expansion of air connectivity in Hisar, and now the proposed launch of the hydrogen rail service from Jind. These initiatives demonstrate that Haryana has remained the focal point of several projects of national importance, he added.
