De Nora Secures Final Tranche of Orders for Moeve Green Hydrogen Project in Spain - News and Statistics

Industrie De Nora S.p.A., an Italian multinational firm trading on Euronext Milan, has secured the final batch of orders from the joint venture thyssenkrupp nucera AG & Co. KGaA for the Moeve green hydrogen initiative in Andalusia, Spain, the company disclosed.

This latest award completes the orders initially announced in May for De Nora’s portion of the project. The supply encompasses electrolytic cells equipped with high-performance anodic and cathodic coatings, amounting to a total capacity of 300 megawatts and an overall value ranging from 30 million to 40 million euros.

De Nora’s technology will be deployed in the project’s first phase, designated Onuba, within Moeve’s Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley. This facility is anticipated to be the largest alkaline water electrolysis venture for green hydrogen production in Southern Europe. Upon completion, it is projected to produce roughly 45,000 tons of hydrogen annually, leading to an estimated reduction of about 250,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year.

Paolo Dellacha, Chief Executive Officer of De Nora, stated that participation in the Moeve project, poised to become Southern Europe’s largest green hydrogen endeavor, strengthens the company’s standing as a preferred technology provider for major energy transition initiatives. He added that rising demand for dependable and efficient green hydrogen solutions highlights the growing importance of electrolysis in driving global industrial decarbonization.
