Gorakhpur: Ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship has nominated Govind Pandey, who served as professor in civil engineering department of Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, as member of the academic council constituted under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. Prof Pandey, who retired recently, has been nominated as representative from academia. The council has been constituted to review and ensure quality of qualification packs and training content developed under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the university informed.According to the order issued by the ministry, the academic council comprises experts from the National Council for Vocational Education and Training, ministry of new and renewable energy and National Skill Development Corporation, academia and industry.The Academic Council will review and validate qualification packs related to green hydrogen technologies, establish quality standards and benchmarks, recommend improvements to enhance their effectiveness and industry relevance, develop a uniform framework for cost determination and provide periodic recommendations to govt for strengthening skill development under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.Expressing happiness over the achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof Anupama Kaushik Sharma congratulated Prof Pandey and said his nomination to the prestigious national body reflects the growing academic excellence and technical expertise of MMMUT.Pandey retired from the civil engineering department of MMMUT, Gorakhpur and specialises in environmental engineering. He completed his BTech from Aligarh Muslim University, MTech from MMMEC Gorakhpur, and PhD from IIT Roorkee. A faculty member at MMMUT since 1991, he has guided more than 157 MTech and three PhD scholars and has published over 143 research papers in reputed national and international journals and conferences. He has also served as director of Rajkiya Engineering College, Gonda, and is member of the board of governors of NIT, Calicut.
