Tyczka Hydrogen has inaugurated a new hydrogen refueling station in Schweinfurt, Germany, marking a step forward in the expansion of hydrogen infrastructure for transport. The site officially entered operation with an opening event attended by regional political and industry representatives, including Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger and the city’s mayor Ralf Hofmann.
Located in the Schweinfurt port area, the site is designed primarily for commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses and municipal or industrial fleets, while also serving passenger cars. Its positioning near key transport connections is expected to support both regional and long-distance hydrogen logistics.
The project is part of Tyczka Hydrogen’s broader strategy to expand its hydrogen business while contributing to Germany’s network of alternative fuel infrastructure. The Schweinfurt location will also evolve into a hydrogen hub, with plans for an on-site electrolysis plant to produce green hydrogen locally.
By integrating production, the company aims to strengthen regional supply and improve the flexibility of renewable energy use, helping to balance electricity demand during peak periods. The development highlights the growing role of hydrogen in decarbonizing transport and supporting industrial energy needs as Germany scales up its energy transition.
