Andrew Forrest’s Fortescue Metals Group will argue in court that the Queensland government’s bid to recover $66 million in subsidies from a failed green hydrogen project is an overreach that risks discouraging future investment.
The Crisafulli government is suing FMG to recover the grant for what was expected to be a “world-leading facility” to kick-start a green hydrogen industry in Queensland. The trial starts Thursday in the Supreme Court.
