Power2X, a clean energy company focused on clean molecule projects and industrial decarbonization, announced it has acquired HyCC, a Netherlands-based large-scale green hydrogen project developer. The transaction strengthens Power2X’s position in clean fuels and feedstocks for industrial customers in the Netherlands and Germany as projects transition from early-stage development to large-scale delivery.
The combination creates greater scale and operational efficiencies, supporting accelerated realization of hydrogen and clean molecule projects across key industrial hubs in northwest Europe. The deal also reflects ongoing consolidation within the clean molecules sector as developers position themselves to meet increasing demand for decarbonized fuels and industrial inputs.
HyCC has built a portfolio of hydrogen and clean molecule projects in Amsterdam, Delfzijl, and Rotterdam, as well as in Germany. Under Power2X, these projects are expected to benefit from broader technical and industrial capabilities and enhanced access to capital. The HyCC team’s experience in water electrolysis and large-scale hydrogen development will support the expansion and delivery of projects across the combined portfolio.
Clean molecules, including green hydrogen, are seen as critical to strengthening Europe’s industrial competitiveness and energy security. Power2X said the combined portfolio could unlock significant investment in the coming years and support the local chemical sector. The company emphasized that a reliable and stable regulatory framework across Europe, including in the Netherlands and Germany, will be essential for project realization. The acquisition is intended to de-risk investments, accelerate delivery timelines, and reinforce Europe’s decarbonization efforts.
The transaction underscores Power2X’s ambition to scale competitive clean-molecule assets capable of operating at industrial scale across aviation, maritime, and heavy industry.
