TAQA Morocco-Moeve Consortium Signs Land Reservation Agreement with Moroccan Govt. – The North Africa Post




The TAQA Morocco-Moeve Consortium has signed with the Moroccan Government preliminary land reservation agreement part of the country’s “Green Hydrogen Offer” to develop a large-scale project for the production of green ammonia and industrial fuel in the southern regions of the Kingdom.
TAQA Morocco will be responsible for the production of the renewable energy for the project, while Moeve will lead the e-fuels production and marketing.
In a press release, the Consortium said the signing of the preliminary land reservation agreements marks an important milestone in the development of this project, enabling the effective launch of feasibility studies.
TAQA Morocco is a major operator in the energy, water and infrastructure sectors in the Kingdom, while Moeve is an international player committed to sustainable energy and mobility based on green molecules.
Abdelmajid Iraqui Houssaini CEO & Chairman of the Management Board of TAQA Morocco, said: “This strategic partnership with Moeve will contribute to the decarbonization journey of TAQA Morocco’s portfolio and support green mobility by fostering the development of hydrogen-derived products essential for industry and transport.”
For his part, Maarten Wetselaar, CEO of Moeve, said: “this agreement marks an important step in bringing large-scale green molecule production to Morocco”.
