Iksan City is providing subsidies for the purchase of hydrogen vehicles to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fine dust and to promote the widespread adoption of eco-friendly vehicles.
Iksan City will launch a subsidy program for hydrogen vehicle purchases starting on the 9th. The subsidy is 34.5 million won per vehicle, and a total of 50 vehicles will be supported this year. Of these 50 vehicles, 5 will be given priority to vulnerable groups, households with multiple children, first-time vehicle buyers, and taxis.
Eligible applicants are citizens aged 18 or older, corporations, and organizations that have had their address in Iksan City for at least three months as of the application date. One vehicle is supported per individual, corporation, or organization.
To apply, buyers must visit an eco-friendly hydrogen vehicle dealership, sign a purchase contract, and submit the application form and supporting documents. The dealership will then apply through the Zero-Emission Vehicle Subsidy Support System.
Iksan City plans to select subsidy recipients in the order of vehicle release and registration and continue support until the budget is exhausted. It is also operating hydrogen charging stations at the 2nd Industrial Complex, Iksan Mokcheon, and Iksan Songhak to improve convenience for hydrogen vehicle users and to promote the use of hydrogen buses.
An Iksan City official said, “We will continue to promote the supply of environmentally friendly vehicles to achieve carbon neutrality and improve air quality,” adding, “We hope this support will help citizens purchase eco-friendly vehicles.”
