Andhra Pradesh is going to emerge as the country’s green energy hub while Kakinada will be developed as a green hydrogen valley, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu said after laying the foundation stone, along with deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, for AM Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia plant at Kakinada on Saturday.

“Knowledge economy is the future and Andhra Pradesh is the best place for innovation and wealth creation. The state govt had brought in a new clean and green energy policy. The production of 1.5 million tonnes of green ammonia will commence from June 2027 and it will be exported to Germany. The environment friendly project will help protect the environment,” he said. He appealed to young entrepreneurs to dream big, adding that the state govt will extend them all support to reach their goals.Stating that the govt is giving top priority to renewable energy, including solar, wind, and pumped storage power generation, the chief minister said Kakinada will be become the destination for green hydrogen and green ammonia.
Surplus power
Green ammonia will benefit the agricultural sector in a big way by protecting the soil, he noted. “The surplus power, which is a result of the power reforms initiated by the govt, led Google to come forward and set up its AI data centre in Visakhapatnam,” he said, while announcing the setting up of AP’s first research and development centre at Tirupati to encourage innovation.
Making it clear that drone ambulance will be inaugurated this year and drone taxis will become a reality in one year, Naidu said.
