NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan’s ENEOS Corporation to explore a potential agreement for the supply of green methanol and green hydrogen derivative products.
The MoU was exchanged at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, and forms part of NGEL’s broader clean energy expansion strategy.
The partnership centres on NGEL’s Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh, which spans 1,200 acres and is being developed as an integrated facility for green chemical production and export.
By aligning ENEOS’s demand for hydrogen derivatives with NGEL’s renewable energy and hydrogen projects, the collaboration aims to advance decarbonisation efforts and contribute to global net-zero targets.
NGEL said the partnership supports its goal of achieving a 60-gigawatt renewable energy portfolio by 2032, reinforcing its role in India’s clean energy transition.
