The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Hydrogen Division, is moving forward with its Research and Development (R&D) Scheme under the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM). The scheme, announced through Order No. 353/61/2023-NT dated 15th March 2024, focuses on promoting indigenous technology development to enable widespread and cost-effective deployment of green hydrogen and its derivatives across India. This initiative is expected to boost the country’s research and innovation capacity in the clean energy sector.

As part of this effort, MNRE issued the “Second Call for Proposals” on 14th July 2025, inviting submissions for R&D projects. To address the concerns of stakeholders regarding this call, the ministry has scheduled a hybrid meeting on 25th August 2025 at 10:00 AM. The meeting will be held in Room No. 319, Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, Delhi. The agenda is to deliberate on issues raised by stakeholders and provide clarity on the process related to the proposals.

Interested participants can join virtually by obtaining the VC link. For this purpose, they are requested to contact Smt. Ranjana Kumari, Private Secretary to Sh. Sujit Pillai, Scientist ‘F’, via email at ranjana.kri17@gov.in. The initiative highlights India’s continued commitment to advancing green hydrogen technologies.
