VNG Handel & Vertrieb and Pfalzgas sign LOI for cooperation in the field of hydrogen
Leipzig, June 24, 2025. The Leipzig-based gas trader VNG Handel & Vertrieb GmbH (VNG H&V), a wholly owned subsidiary of the gas group VNG AG, and Pfalzgas GmbH have signed a letter of intent (LOI) for intensive cooperation in the field of green gases. The aim of the cooperation is to examine joint potential for the supply, transport, and use of green and low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia and to shape the transformation and decarbonization of Pfalzgas’ energy procurement.
Werner Brommko, Head of Sales at Pfalzgas GmbH, emphasizes:

The focus of the collaboration is the gradual decarbonization of Pfalzgas’s energy procurement. VNG H&V offers both strategic and operational support in shaping future procurement and the supply of renewable and decarbonized gases. These include biomethane, imported green and low-carbon hydrogen, and, in the future, self-produced hydrogen.
Pfalzgas is simultaneously intensively preparing for the transformation of its gas network and is vigorously advancing the hydrogen readiness of its infrastructure. Through the planned feed-in of green gases, Pfalzgas aims to help shape a sustainable and future-proof local energy supply.
